We serve newborns to children 12 years of age.

ABOUT ME

My name is Samantha Ruibal. I grew up in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, then relocated to Warrenton, Virginia, in 2010 for work. It was there that I met my husband, Dominic. We married in 2015, and we now have two beautiful children.

I have worked in the hospitality industry since I was 14 years old. However, when the pandemic hit in March 2020, the industry was devastated, and I was furloughed from my career. Like many others, that furlough became a lay-off. The hospitality industry was in no position to bounce back anytime soon. I quickly realized that I was going to need to shift gears and possibly start over completely, but doing what? I initially dabbled in insurance sales and at-home call center customer service, but none of that was for me. The longer I was "stuck" at home, the more I didn't want to leave my daughter. Then it dawned on me - why not turn my love for children and extensive experience into my own home daycare?

I love planning activities, crafts, and events for kids. I am passionate about teaching, and I am CPR / First Aid / AED certified. I also grew up in a very large, very close family. I'm the oldest of 30+ cousins, and I have been providing childcare for most of them as long as I can remember. During the pandemic, I began offering childcare for friends. Small Steps Home Daycare then officially opened in September of 2021.

I know how difficult it is to leave your child in someone else's care. My goal is to help your little one thrive and provide you with peace of mind - know that your child is safe, respected, and well-nurtured while in my care.

While I do my best to keep any political and religious views separate from my business, I think it's important that my current and future daycare families know where I stand.
